3. The reaction of 1-(4-methylphenyl) pyrrolidine-3-acetic acid with aqueous ammonia produces {[1-(4-methylphenyl) pyrrolidin-3-yl] methyl} amine.
4. Finally, {[1-(4-methylphenyl) pyrrolidin-3-yl] methyl} amine is reacted with hydrochloric acid to form the corresponding hydrochloride salt.
